TIPS for the survival of freshman year
According to the American College Testing (ACT) survey results, one out of every four freshmen will leave the school before completing their second year of study such as 纽约大学. About 50% of freshmen will choose to leave school or transfer to other schools before completing their degree 美国大学排名.
Today, I will share tips for the survival of freshmen, hoping to help freshmen successfully spend the freshman year, especially for the first few weeks. No matter how you adjust yourself, make sure you do yourself and truly enjoy your college life.
Participate in all Orientations
Do you really need a Campus Tour? Yes. Want to quickly get to know the campus and participate in a Campus Tour; if you want to stay calm after all kinds of problems, attend Orientation.
Learn about your roommates and others in your dorm
The people you live with are your main safety net because they are experiencing what you have experienced and facing the problems you face. Not only this year but in the remaining four years, you will all grow together like your comrades. Of course, you may change your roommate after the first semester, but in the first year, please take some time to meet your fellow freshmen.
In high school, teachers will continue to emphasize homework and completion time. However, at university, most professors will upload assignments throughout the semester before the semester. By default, you are ready. Each job has a fixed due time, missed the deadline, all efforts will be turned into nothingness.
Go to class
Obvious, right? But does it seem tempting to sneak an 8 o’clock class occasionally?
Try to avoid this temptation. If you are not a bird that gets up early, simply don’t choose the morning class. Because during class, you are not only for learning, but you will also receive a lot of important information, such as what part of the knowledge of the professor at the end of the exam, such as changes in due dates.
Remember your course requirements and due day
Your syllabus is the crystallization of your professor’s summary of changes over the years. So after you get syllabus before class, please read it carefully. You should be able to basically understand what you are teaching about this course.
We must know that the most unreasonable reason given by students to professors is: What is the teacher? I don’t know that today is the due day of the assignment. You are beating the professor’s face. Do you want to hang it?
